6 Home De-Cluttering Tips

When many people are getting ready to move, they often wonder ‘where did all of this stuff come from?’ As time passes clutter is inevitable, but clutter does not have to be a bad thing. There are numerous ways to de-clutter your home before your move, which can save you money.

1. Start in one room and de-clutter 15 minutes a day. Putting a time limit on your de-cluttering will help you not become burnt out. Sticking to one room until its done will help your feel more organized and your can see the progress your are making.

2. If you have not worn the clothes in the last six months, sell, donate, or give them away.

3. Host a garage sale. You can make some pocket change while de-cluttering. At the end of the day, what you do not sell can donate and get a write off on your taxes.

4. One in Two Out Rule. If you bring in a new item you must get rid of two other items.

5. Ask an Expert. Have a real estate agent or moving company identify which room(s) need the most work de-cluttering,
