Have you ever thought about how a three bedroom, 3500 square foot house full of furniture will fit into a 26 foot moving truck?
Our men at Columbine Moving & Storage, are qualified as “geometric engineers” when loading a truck or storage vault. Our lead man will go into your home the day of moving and will survey all the items that need to be moved. Depending upon the shape, size, and density of your goods, they will determine how to stack our 26’ truck. The same evaluation is done when they get back to the warehouse to stack our 7’ wide x 5’ deep x 6’ tall storage container if your goods are coming to storage. Your goods are stacked wall to wall, ceiling to ceiling, with no gaps or spaces.
This process is like putting together a three dimensional geometric puzzle on a large scale. There is a fourth dimension to consider and that is the weight of the item. It’s kind of like playing the computer game “Tetris” except a lot more is at stake. It is imperative that the loader keeps the shipment packed tight so there is no shifting which could cause rubbing and then that can cause damage to furniture. The more tightly the shipment is loaded, the less movement and the less damage. Lots of pads are used on the furniture and used to fill in spaces. The heavier items are stacked on the bottom and the lighter items on top. You never want to take your loader for granted, experience loaders are imperative when stacking a truck.
