Finally your furniture and boxes have arrived at their destination, the movers have put items in their designated rooms, and they are gone. Now you have left to deal with the unpacking and arranging from the move, but where to start. Although each person has their unique way of unpacking, Columbine has learned a few tips along the way.
The most important tip is to unpack room-by-room starting with the bedrooms. We say to start with the bedrooms because, after all, you are going to need a place to sleep after unpacking all day. Most likely if you have kids, you will want to set their room up first to give them a space to play while you set the rest of the house up.
Once you have completed the bedrooms, the next room to unpack should be the kitchen. Having the kitchen done next will help save money by not eating out while everything is still in boxes. After the pots and pans, plates and bowls, are put away, the bathrooms should be set up. Other then the bare essentials that are in there, toilet paper, tissues, and soap, your personal touch and items need to be added.
The last room that should be unpacked is the living room because it is usually the biggest and will take the most time arranging. The living room usually has the heaviest pieces of furniture; so don’t be afraid to hire your local moving company for help. Two movers can put the living room together the way you want it in no time. However, no matter what room you start with, unpacking room-by-room will make the job much more tangible.
